This is an important part in n3 grammar  Use this when the cause leads to bad results  原因で悪い結果になったときに使います 原因の後ろに(せいで)を付けます 例えば　人に足りなくせいで作業が止まってしまっていて the work has stopped because we are understaffed.

2番 試験に合格したので、先生に伝えたいです。先生に何と言いますか。 I passed the exam, so I want to tell the teacher. What do you say to the teacher? M:1.今回はおめでとうございます。 M:1. Congratulations this time. 2.今度、合格なさいました。 2. I passed this time. Ans-3.おかげさまで、試験に受かりました 3. Thanks to you, I passed the exam.

When we get good results use okage おかげ毎日練習したおかげで合格になった Thanks to practicing every day, I passed. 良く結果になったときには　原因の後ろには　おかげ　 を　使います Another example would be  雨が降ったおかげで花が枯れなかった Thanks to the rain the flowers didn’t wither . When you have ordered some food in a restaurant and when the waiter brings in after some time he says お待たせしました　/ お待たせしてしまいました　it means  Sorry to keep you waiting  You can also use this on a phone call too. 例- レストラン　で　働いて　います 客に料理を出します　、何　と　言いますか？ お待たせしました

When your in a restaurant and you ask for something and the waiter says 少々お待ちください Please wait a moment.

When you want to ask some one s name again use this honorific expression ukagau  もう一度お名前を伺いできますか Can I ask your name again？ 伺ってもよろしいでしょうか May I ask you something?

 In case of workplace if your asking for help It should like 手伝ってくれませんか? means 、Could you help me? 目上の人にお願いするとき　when asking help from senior use 手伝ってもらえませんか　や　手伝っていただけないでしょうか When you want to help someone say 私が手伝いましょうか　と言います Please refer to the usage in jlpt - JLPT N3 listening 2012 mondai4 Question1
