私 は本が好きで、よく本を買うのですが、先日失敗をしてしまいました。家で買ったばかりの本を読んでいたら、前に読んだことがあるような気がしてきたのです。もしかしたら持っている本かもしれないと思って本棚を探してみたら、やっぱりありました。そして、

その本を読んだことも思い出したのです。

I like books, and I often buy books, but I failed the other day. When I was reading a book I just bought at home, I felt like I had read it before. I thought it might be a book I have, so I looked for a bookshelf, but it was there. And,

I also remembered that I read that book.

私はたまにこんな失敗をします。読んだことがある本なのに、買ったことも内容も忘れているのです。

I sometimes make mistakes like this. Even though it's a book I've read, I've forgotten both what I bought and the contents.

それが面白くない本だったときは、つまらない本のために二度もお金を払ったことが悔くなります。でも、面白くて感動した本だったときには、悔しいだけではなく自分が嫌になります。いいと思った本のことを忘れてしまった自分が情けないのです。

When it was an uninteresting book, I regret that I paid twice for a boring book. But when it was an interesting and moving book, it's not only frustrating but also disgusting.

It will be. I feel sorry for myself for forgetting the book I thought was good.

これからも同じようなことをしてしまうかもしれません。でも、本を読むのは楽しいので、本屋通いはやめられそうもありません。

I may continue to do the same thing in the future. But it's fun to read books.

So, I don't think I'll be able to stop going to the bookstore.
